Why do we have a Parent and Teacher Association?
To support closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of school working towards a common goal. We look to raise money to spend on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school.
It is a legal requirement that organisations such as ours, with an annual income in excess of £5,000 register with the Charity Commission and abide by their rules.
We hope to increase awareness amongst parents, improve relationships, improve ‘inclusion’ and involvement with consultation across Parent/Guardians, School and Pupils. We also seek to build and gain stronger links with the local community.
These include Quality of Education, Openness, Involvement, Collaboration, Achievements, Support, Networking and Communication.
We are in the process of supporting a Communication Policy. The aim of the policy is to have clear and effective communication among staff and with pupils, parents, governors and members of the wider school community. This will ensure that communications between all members of the school community are clear, professional, timely and appropriate.
We are a member of the PTA UK and we receive support through the organisation and are able to access their resources.
How You Can Get Involved
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child(ren) through the Friends of Woldgate School. Offering to help before or at events, or at other times during the year is so valuable.
