Woldgate School and Sixth Form College takes safeguarding very seriously. All employees have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check carried out as part of our pre-employment checks and checks are also undertaken to verify identity, address, qualifications required for the post, right to work in the UK and previous employment history.
All employees at Woldgate have repeat DBS checks at least every three years and wear an identity badge on a green lanyard with a photograph that identifies them.
All visitors are required to wear a visitor's badge on either a red or amber lanyard after identifying themselves at Reception and signing into the premises. Individuals for whom we do not hold a valid DBS check must wear a red lanyard and be accompanied by a member of Woldgate staff at all times.
The school has a Child Protection Policy which operates within Local Authority, East Riding Safeguarding Children Board and Government parameters. It is available on request from either Ruth Ibbetson (Education Welfare and Child Protection Co-ordinator) or Amanda Longstaff (Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School). Please contact the school if you require any further information about our safeguarding policy.
