Good attendance means being in school at least 97% of the time across one academic year.

We are committed to working with parents, carers and pupils to remove barriers to attendance. We recognise the importance of high attendance and the subsequent impact low rates of attendance have on progress and outcomes. Our policy is to proactively manage and improve attendance across the school community by working in partnership with you.

We want our pupils and students to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances.

NHS Guidance: Is My Child Well Enough to Attend School?

If you need to discuss your child’s attendance or seek help, please contact your child’s Care and Achievement Coordinator.

If your child is unwell, in the first instance please telephone the School on 01759 302395 Option 1 (pupil absence).  Where necessary, our Attendance Officer or Attendance and Wellbeing Coordinator will call back in the day to check on how your child is feeling, and whether they can attend school in the afternoon.  For extended absences, medical evidence will be requested.

For pre-planned absences, please contact our Attendance and Wellbeing Coordinator, or your child’s Care & Achievement Coordinator, with as much notice as possible.
